There has always been this long history of rappers co-signing artists. The Weeknd is no different, seeing a lot of appreciation from his hometown Toronto, as well as his fellow native Drake. Fast forward to the 2nd annual OVO festival, Drake tells Billboard.com’s The Juice that Abel Tesfaye will appear on his sophomore effort, Take Care.
“He’s one of the greatest artists I ever heard,” he says of The Weeknd. “He’s on my album a lot. We really collaborated a lot on this album.”
The YMCMB rap singer speaks further on the Weeknd, noting he has been a major inspiration to sing better on-stage and “he just inspired me writing wise, music wise, just to better my product.”
“To hear someone else with an incredible body of work is very rare. It’s very inspiring.” Drake says.
Drake’s highly anticipated single off Take Care dropped a couple of hours ago. “Headlines” is produced by Drizzy’s go-to guy Boi-1da. This joint is real different from past leaks with him showing off a more tougher side, yet still bringing in his signature R&B crooning we all know and love. His sophomore release is planned to drop on October 24th.
